- (a) Total runs scored by batsman A = x (let) Strike rate =126 $\therefore $ $\frac{x}{x-74} $ $ 100 =125 $ $\Rightarrow $ $ 125x-9250 =100x $ $\Rightarrow $ $ 25x=9250 $ $\Rightarrow $ $ x=\frac{9250}{25}=370 $ $\therefore $ Required average runs = $\frac{370}{8} $ = 46.25
